Once again another year is rapidly coming to an end and it’s the perfect time to review, learn and grow from our experiences.

We started the year with a big announcement by taking up the opportunity to purchase an existing physio practice in Blackwood and merging our Belair clinic into the newly refurbished Blackwood clinic. This move required a lot of intense discussions over a very short period and it was pleasing to see the results come to fruition.

The Physio Clinic is proud to now be a part of the thriving Blackwood community.

Our hard working physio and admin team of Lisa, Michelle, Natalie, Erin and Chris have been outstanding in their efforts to develop and grow the practice and we look forward to further supporting the health needs of the Blackwood community in 2019.

Natalie Bukojemski, Ben Corso and Dr Heather Holmes-Ross – Mayor of City of Mitcham at the Blackwood Physio Clinic launch.

Our Prospect location is now centred in the hub of Prospect with many new developments springing to life around us. When we built here seven years ago, we were one of the only new buildings on this part of Prospect Road. As a result, the clinic has continued to grow and we welcomed a new team leader Lauren Swan in September.

We have had an expansion in Neurological services and referrals from the NDIS through Dr Michelle McDonnell, in addition to Sue Gibson our Paediatric physio. Both offer great access to our services through home visits and hydrotherapy.

Both our Burnside Hospital and Findon Swim School clinics are also progressing with post-operative orthopaedic services such as hip and knee pathways for rehabilitation and the use of the Anti-Gravity Treadmill at Toorak Gardens.

Our hydrotherapy services have expanded, using the brand new pool at the swim school on Grange Road, and we have now introduced Pilates classes which are run by both Lauren and Shannon.

Much of our clinic growth is the result of our hardworking hospital team led by Amy, Kristian, Matt, Jordan and Jesse. They continue to work really well as a team and support each other. We are also well supported by our friendly admin team of Rhi, Jessica, Michelle, Anne, Sonya and Lisa who do a fantastic job managing all sites. I’d also like to acknowledge the work of our many physio’s travelling across our various locations, Chissy, Sarah and Aaron.

A new initiative we also introduced this year has been our ‘Standing up for Hips and Knees’ program which offers education and pathways for osteoarthritis sufferers offering the latest evidence-based information and exercises. Our initial feedback has been very positive and we look forward to expanding these programs in 2019. See our event flyer for more info.

Of course none of this would be possible without the support of our patients and referrers and we give a big THANK YOU to all of you for your ongoing support that allows locally owned businesses to provide much needed services, contributing to the health and wellness needs of South Australians.

We look forward to continuing to work with you in 2019.
